Region of Waterloo and Miller Waste Systems Celebrate Pride

Miller Waste Pride Truck

Waterloo Region – When you put your waste to the curb this month, you may notice a Miller collection truck showing its pride. Decked out in their Pride at Work rainbow mural, Miller Waste Systems joins the Region of Waterloo in celebrating Pride Month.

The collection truck will make its way throughout the region to mark Pride Month as a time of celebration for the Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning, intersex and asexual+ (2SLGBTQIA+) community, and an opportunity for Miller Waste Systems and the Region of Waterloo to reaffirm our commitment to creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for everyone.

“Miller Waste Systems joins the Region’s family of contractors that continually deliver equitable programs and services in support of an inclusive community,” said Colleen James, Regional Councillor and Chair of the Planning & Works Committee.

“Our trucks are the most visible part of Miller’s operations, and our Pride at Work truck symbolizes our firm allyship with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community,” said Joe Johnson, President of Miller Waste Systems. It also represents our dedication to creating a culture of belonging and conscious inclusion. We invite every individual to bring their full selves to work year-round and celebrate the diversity of our workforce, the Region of Waterloo, and all the communities we serve.

You can join the celebration too. If you see our truck, safely take a selfie and post it on your social media with #ROWMillerPride.
