Over the past 12 years at the York Region Waste Management Centre, Miller has continued to provide York Region with “Only The Best” customer service while processing and marketing thousands of tonnes of recyclables through the single stream Materials Recovery Facility and handling thousands of tonnes in the Transfer Station.
This proud group of over 100 employees was the first within the Waste Division to achieve ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2013. In 2016 the staff achieved their recertification with zero “Non-Conformances” and zero “Areas for Improvements” which was very impressive. This again is evidence that Miller strives to be “Only The Best”.
While working with our customer York Region, Miller’s in house engineers were able to apply their extensive knowledge in Recycle Processing Equipment and complete the third retrofit to this facility at the end of 2015 (installation of a Mix Broken Glass System). This retrofit helped to process and capture not only glass material, but also allowed for the diversion of other recyclable materials to their proper End markets. This project was the third one completed by Miller, on behalf of York Region since 2011, with the Region investing a total of 11 million dollars over this time.
