FAQ

Front-end and roll-off bins mainly differ when it comes to the way trucks pick up the bins and collect its contents.

Front-end bins are rectangular steel bins that come in a variety of sizes and are designed to accommodate large volumes of waste and recycling from businesses, institutions, and multi-family dwellings. They are serviced by front-end trucks, which have forks that slide into metal slots on either side of the front-end bin. The trucks lifts the bin and empties its content into the cab before returning the empty bin to the ground.

Front-end bins are durable, secure, and prevent waste from blowing around or spilling onto the ground. They can also be outfitted with locks and lids for extra security.

Roll-off bins are usually longer than front-end bins and have open tops. Roll-off trucks have hydraulic cylinder that the bins “roll” on and off of. This makes it easy for drivers to effectively load and transport bins and their contents simultaneously.

Roll-off bins are ideal for properties that need less frequent collection and temporary construction, demolition, and clean-up projects.

If you need regular waste and recycling pick-up (a few types a week or once a month), front-end service is ideal. Miller will work with you to determine for your bin(s) on your property and how often they should be serviced. Pickup schedules can be adjusted based on your needs.

Front-end service is well suited for restaurants, office buildings, shopping centers, convenience stores, hair salons, hospitals and healthcare centers, schools, grocery store, libraries, places of worship, warehouses, wholesalers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, multi-family dwellings, apartment buildings, and more.

Roll-off bins are better for properties that don’t need frequent collection (such as parks). They also work well for temporary projects that generate large volumes of waste, including construction and demolition projects, interior and exterior renovations, clean-ups, moves, and landscaping projects.
