In this position you will be required to service, diagnose and complete repairs to waste collection vehicles to both the chassis and packer system as well as the facility/shop maintenance. You will be responsible with ensuring the fleet is ready to start working at 7:00AM the following morning. You will be required to conduct vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures. You will ensure that the fleet meets corporate appearance standards and maintain a clean and organized work place as well as liaise with operations to ensure service calls and or break downs are addressed and corrected in a timely fashion.
Successful candidates must have and maintain a valid Truck & Transport technician’s license as well as a Nova Scotia class 5 driver license with air brake endorsement. You will have the ability to diagnose and rectify faults, as well as possess experience in repairing hydraulic and electrical systems. Computer knowledge, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills is a must for this position. Your ability to meet deadlines and stressful situations in a fast paced environment is key, as well as working with others in a team environment. You must be available to work late when trucks are behind schedule, and you may be required to work weekends and holidays and be flexible with the hours of work.
